Friends, we published a book! Spiritualism’s Place: Reformers, Seekers, and Seances in Lily Dale is now available from Cornell University Press. The official launch date was October 15, 2024, and we’ve been hard at work telling everyone we can about the book, with book talks in Buffalo and Rochester back in October and a virtual book club series that wrapped on November 10. If you missed those events, fear not! We’ll be doing a virtual event with the Lily Dale Assembly over the winter, and then giving a live book talk in Lily Dale, NY on Thursday July 10, 7-9pm – and we’d love to see yall there!
To celebrate our book launch, we decided to dedicate this month’s series to re-releases of some of our favorite episodes from the months when we were writing the book, and doing deep historiographical dives for our research. When we were working on Spiritualism’s Place, we tugged on a lot of threads. Some of them made significant appearances in chapters, and some were just happy rabbit holes. It was a lot of fun writing this book.
